Northwest Catholic scored two goals in the final two minutes of the first half and held on for a 2-1 win over Middletown in the finals of the first ever CCC Girls soccer tournament. The Indians, champions of the CCC West, defeated Tolland 2-0 in the first round and RHAM 2-0 in the semifinals to reach the championship round.
CCC Southern Division champions Middletown reached the finals by beating Hall 3-2 in the quarters and handed Glastonbury its first loss of the season 1-0 in the semis. Middletown took an early lead in the championship on a goal by Lizzie Smith 15 minutes into the game. But the Indians countered with two in the final two minutes of the half to take a lead they would never relinquish. Michy Medina tied the game with 2:13 left in the half and Alicia Susi booted home the game winner off a feed from Madison Borowiec less than a minute later.The Indians held off the Blue Dragons over the final 40 minutes to preserve the win.
